Amy Kluss Interred Monday

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 5 at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia for Amy Amelia Kluss, who died April 1. The Rev. Perry Brown officiated. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia.

Born July 30, 1893 at Garnavillo, Amy was the daughter of Helmuth and Mary (Meier) Meyer. When she was ten, the family moved to a farm east of Castalia. She was baptized October 8, 1893 and confirmed October 20, 1907.

February 10, 1915 she was married to John William Kluss and they made their home in Castalia. Mrs. Kluss was very active in the women of the church and remained an honorary member after moving to Clear Lake to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Klatt, eight years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Elaine) Klatt of Clear Lake; one granddaughter, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Moritz of Des Moines; a grandson, John Klatt of Clear Lake, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Carlaus Meyer, Monona and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Viola) Wirshing of California; Mrs. Joe (Lucy) Kluss of McGregor, and William (Golda) Drallmeier of Battlecreek, Michigan.
