A military funeral is being held today for James Kneeskern at the Castor Maxon funeral home in El Paso, Tx. Burial in the Fort Bliss Cemetery.

James Kneeskern, formerly of the Postville area was born July 26, 1917 at Rossville, son of William and Jennie (Roths) Kneeskern. He died Dec. 8 in the Wm. Beaumont Hospital.

He graduated from Postville High School in 1936. In 1939 he enlisted in the Army, making it his career for 25 years. He served under General Patton during World War II. He retired to El Paso.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Donald and Leo.

Survivors are his wife, Sonja, 3 daughters, Dianne Leysaf, Indianola, Linda Baske, Decorah and Barbara Larson, Stanford, MT; 2 sisters, Kathryn (Mrs. Don Wisehart), Cedar Rapids and Hazel (Mrs. Ambrose Waters), Postville.
