PRESTON, MN -- The funeral for Elsie Kneeskern was at 2 p.m. Monday, April ?, 1987 at Preston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston.
Mrs. Kneeskern, 78, of Preston, died Thursday at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa.
The former Elsie Schultz was born July 18, 1908, in Castalia, Iowa. She graduated from high school and normal school in Postville, Iowa, then taught for three years before marrying Dean Kneeskern of Frankville, Iowa, on May 23, 1929, in Decorah. The couple lived in Frankville for seven years where she operated a telephone office. They moved to Preston in 1946.
Mr. Kneeskern is a retired livestock buyer for Geo. A. Hormel Co. Mrs. Kneeskern was a member of Preston United Methodist Church and its women's Society and a past member of the VFW Auxiliary in Preston.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Cloy of Audubon, Iowa, and Wayne of Cresco; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle (JoAnn) Miller of Preston; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Schmidt of Postville. Five brothers preceded her in death.

Her funeral was held on Monday, April 6, 1987. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Louis Schultz, who died in infancy, George Schultz, Joe Schultz, Elmer Schultz, Roy Schultz, and Henry Schultz.
