Kathy Ann Pilgrim

Kathy Ann Pilgrim, 35, of Independence, died March 26 at People's Hospital in Independence.

Services were March 29 at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran church with Pastor Judd Larson officiating, and Mrs. Ransome Bolson as organist. Burial was at the Iowa River Cemetery.

She was born July, 1952 in Decorah to Cornell "Tom" Schrandt and Florence Iverson Schrandt. She attended Waterville grade school and graduated in 1970 from Waukon High School. June 21, 1975 she married Kenneth Pilgrim.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and church groups in Independence. Before her marriage she was employed at the Luther College food service. The past few years she had been a volunteer aid at the Mental Health Institute in Independence.

Surviving are her husband, parents and a brother Thomas, of Lincoln, NE.

Casket bearers were Jim Winters, Allan Bakkum, Mick Stamper, Alan Heitman, Kevin Fossum and Greg Gilbertson.
