Funeral services for Roland Peck were held Tuesday, May 2, 11 a.m. at the Frankville Community Presbyterian Church. Rev. James Elvig officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Frankville Cemetery.
Roland Daniel Peck, son of Daniel and Alice Maude (VanWey) Peck, was born September 23, 1918 near Postville. He died Saturday morning, April 29, 1989 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah.
On September 3, 1938 he married Beverly Brandt at Decorah. They had 2 daughters. The resided on a farm near Frankville until their home burned last June. Since her retirement, they have spent fall and winter months at Brownsville, TX. Last September Roland and Beverly observed their golden wedding anniversary.
He was a member of the Frankville Community Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who died February 25, 1989, and 2 brothers, Howard and Hartley Myren.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Luann Haas, rural Postville, Mrs. Gordon (Judy) Jacobson, rural Clermont, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one brother, Upton Peck, Postville and a sister, Ruth Allen of Postville.
Pallbearers were Daniel Jacobson, Gregory Jacobson, Addison Haas, James Halstead, Brent Nordhus and Jeffrey Kilcher.
