Levi Peck

A Pioneer Resident Called Home

Levi Peck was born in Oswego county, New York, May 18, 1839, and died at his home in Frankville, April 15, 1928. He came to Frankville in 1865 and spent two years with his brothers, James and William, on their farms. On October 18, 1866, he was united in marriage with Frances M. Moore at Frankville by Rev. J. W. Crawford. When they were married fifty years about 250 friends helped them enjoy the day by giving them a Golden Wedding in the Masonic hall. They spent sixty-two and a half years of married life together. Mr. Peck was a faithful kind and true husband and a friend of everyone who knew him. He joined Union Band Lodge, A. F. & A. M., April 5, 1876, and was a faithful member and an earnest worker among the craft for 52 years. During his recent illness the officers of Union Band Lodge No. 66 went to his home and presented him with a fifty-year membership certificate, which pleased him very much.

He leaves to mourn his loss a true and faithful wife, who has cared for him through more than seven years of sickness, also several nephews and nieces, who will miss his kind words and pleasant smile. We can truly say those who knew him best loved him most.

The funeral was held from the Community church Tuesday afternoon, April 17th, at two o'clock under Masonic auspices, Bro. G. D. Bollman of Decorah conducting the services for the local lodge. Interment was made in the Village cemetery.
