MARSHALL PERRY, 68, PASSES AWAY FRIDAY

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for Marshall E. Perry, a prominent pioneer and highly respected citizen of the Castalia community who had succumbed suddenly Friday while in his timber land north of Castalia loading wood. He was 68 years old.

Rev. Melvin Hall of the United Brethren church had charge of the services and interment was in Bloomfield cemetery.

Marshall Edmund Perry was the son of Job and Mary Campbell Perry, both members of pioneer families of Bloomfield township. He was born near Castalia July 6, 1875, growing to manhood in that community. On June 10, 1903, he was united in marriage to Alma E. Moore of Decorah and to them six children were born, Albert of LeRoy, Minn., Chester of Castalia, Carlton of Cumberland, Wis., Ivera (Mrs. G. Limkeman) of Ossian, and Izetta (Mrs. Ed Anderson) of Decorah. One son passed away in infancy. He is also survived by his wife and nine grandchildren, a sister, Alma Perry, and a nephew, Vernon Perry, both of Castalia. His parents, one son and a brother, Eugene, preceded him in death.
