Alma Lorena Perry

Miss Alma Lorena Perry, daughter of Job and Mary Campbell Perry, was born June 8, 1869 and passed away June 3, 1963 at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 25 days.

Miss Perry attended rural school in district No. 10, then Castalia public school and later attended Breckenridge at Decorah. She taught two terms of school, one term at the home school and one term in South Dakota.

She returned home and pursued the occupation of a seamstress. She never married, but lived with her parents and cared for them until they died. After the passing of her father she moved to Castalia where she resided until she was unable to care for herself. Ten months ago she went to her niece's home, Mrs. Gottlieb Limkemann, where she was cared for until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eugene and Marshall. She was the last remaining member of her family. Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of many friends. Miss Perry had a remarkable memory and enjoyed reminiscing. She added much valuable information to many who were compiling historical records and data concerning this community.

Services were from the Schutte Funeral Home at Postville, Thursday afternoon at 2:00, with Rev Curtis H. Webster officiating. Burial was at the Bloomfield Cemetery at Castalia.
