Mrs. LAWRENCE (Lucille R. (Crabtree) VanWey) MILLER 1898-1990

Lucille Rosella Miller died Jan. 17, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 20, 1990, at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Chapel. Rev. Larry Olson officiated. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery. Martin's of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.

Lucille R. Miller, daughter of Arlo and Elma (Kneeskern) Crabtree was born Oct. 29, 1898 in Bloomfield Twp., Winneshiek County near Castalia, IA. She attended the rural Bloomfield School near Castalia.

She married Claude VanWey Aug. 27, 1913. He died October 27, 1932. On Feb. 11, 1936 she married Lawrence Miller in Waukon. He died April 23, 1970. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Waukon.

Preceding her in death were her husbands; brothers: Alfred, Archie, George, Clarence, Irvin and Arthur; her sisters: Elsie, Nettie and Mary; and her children: John VanWey (1975), Derevia (in infancy); stepdaughter Marie Monthei; one grandchild Jimmy; two great-grandchildren, Tina and Neil.

Surviving are children Lester VanWey of Postville; Catherine Cannon of Manchester; Lilia Gilbert, address unknown; stepdaughter, Dorothy Bulman of Ames; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David, John and Frank Cannon; Donald, Robert, and Charles VanWey; David and Tharin Schwinefus.
