Henry Oliver Ruen - Funeral services for Henry Oliver Ruen, 81, of Decorah were held Wednesday, Feb 24 at 1:30 pm at Glenwood Lutheran Church with the Rev Landis Olsen officiating. Mr. Ruen, a retired farmer & carpenter, died feb 21 at the Winn County Memorial Hospital.
Soloist was Iona Crawford, accompanied by Syvilla Bolson. Sensor-French Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with burial at Glenwood East CEmetery. Pallbearers were Willard Orvella, Tom Szabo, Robert STuckman, Vernon Olson, Chalres Ruen, & Henry Scholl. Honary pallbearers were Richard Langland, Lawrence Ruen, Leonard Ruen, Olaf Sivesend, Olaf Hendrickson, & Robert Espe.
Henry Oliver Ruen was born May 12, 1906, in Winneshiek county, son of George & Dorothea (scholl) Ruen. HE attended rural schools of Allamakee county. He married the former Inez Kessel aug 2, 1972, at Glenwood Lutheran Church. He married Arla Evenrud on March 6, 1939, & she died July 31, 1961.
Survivors include his wife Inez & 1 son, Dennis of Decorah. He was preced in death by his first wife; 2 daughters, Donna Skekelton & 1 in infancy; 1 brother, Albert; & 2 sisters, Ida & Alma Ruen.
MR. Ruen was a member of Glenwood Lutheren Church.
