Former resident Thora Mosby dies after accident.

Ossian (Special) Mrs. Thora Mosby, a former resident of Ossian died Monday at University Hospitals in Iowa City from injuries she received in a taxi accident Monday Oct. 8 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was 68 years of age.

Mrs. Mosby worked at the Ossian State Bank for over ten years and then went to Calmar in 1957 where she worked two years at the Iowa State Bank. After leaving Calmar, she moved to Cedar Rapids and was employed by MidWest Food Distributors where she worked at the time she was fatally injured.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, at 10 a.m at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids and commital service at 3 p.m at the Catholic Cemetery in Decorah, Iowa.

As Miss Thora Delores Horen she was born Aug. 16 1911 at Decorah, Iowa where she spent the early years of her life. She graduated from Decorah High School and married William T. Mosby on Nov. 12 1936. He died in 1952.

She is survived by one son, William D. Mosby of Marion, Iowa; one daughter Mrs. Kathleen Knapp of Cedar Rapids; one sister Lauretta (Horen) Bicha of La Crosse, WI. nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Note: Thora was the daughter of Dennis and Mary H. (Werhan) Horen.
