HAROLD LeALLEN RAWSON

Funeral services for Harold Rawson were held Tuesday, August 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Castalia. Pastor Verdon Swenson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Harold LeAllen Rawson, son of James Edward and Florence (Deming) Rawson, was born June 7, 1909 on a farm near Arlington, Iowa. He died Saturday, August 3, 1985 at his home near Castalia, Iowa.

He attended the rural schools near his home. June 1, 1935 he was married to Naida Peckham in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. They were parents of five children. This year they celebrated 50 years of marriage. They had lived in their present home all of their lives.

Although Harold had retire, he helped with the farm work at times.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Haldain Rawson and 2 brothers, Dorr and Dale.

Surviving besides his wife, Naida, are 3 sons, Karel and his wife, Joyce, of West Union, Robert, at home and Wesley and his wife Mariett, of Castalia, 2 daughters, Leota and her husband, Lein Knudsvig, of Vinton and Madeline and her husband, Bill Buddenberg of Castalia, 14 grandchildren, Randy, Doug, Brett, Bruce and Lynn Buddenberg, Paul, Brian, Lindsay, Wade and Danny Knudsvig, Janell, Roxanne and Lezley Rawson and Steve Rawson, 4 great grandchildren Joshua and Zachery Buddenberg and Brittany and Bridget Buddenberg, a brother, Howard of Independence, 2 sisters, Clyta Humphrey of Arlington, and Cleo Whitcher of Madison, WI and many nephews and nieces.

The casket bearers were his grandsons.
