Delores Mary Reilly
Delores Mary Reilly, daughter of Charles and Sarah Deeney, was born November 21, 1923 at Lycurgus, Iowa. She died Thursday, August 10, 1995 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was 71 years old.
Delores attended the Lycurgus Public School. She moved to Ossian in 1947.
She married Clair H. Reilly, founder of Reilly Construction Co., Inc. on April 4, 1970.
While living in Ossian, Delores was employed at the local telephone company and several retail stores. She was very active in the local community, including volunteer work at the local community hospital and St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and School in Ossian. She supported Habitat for Humanity and the Northeast Iowa Community Mental Health Center Building Fund.
She is survived by her husband, Clair H. Reilly of Ossian; a brother, Delbert Deeney of Waukon; a sister, Esther Linderbaum of Ossian; and children, Mike Lavell of Rochester, Minn., sister Maxine Lavell of Oregon, and Ron Lavell of Ossian and stepchildren, Jacqueline Fenelon of Decorah, Robert M. Reilly of Ossian, Mary Ann Mitchell of Louisville, Ky., Jeanie Martinek of Marietta, Ga., Kathleen Costigan of Conover, Cindy Feser of Council Bluffs, and Pam Kuennen of Cedar Rapids, also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held Saturday, August 12, 1995 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian with the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Casket bearers were her grandson, Shannon Szabo, Scott Gross, Jason Gross, Matthew Kuennen, Benjamin Kuennen, Andrew Kuennen, Mike Lavell, Jr., Thomas Fenelon, Paul Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Joe Martinek, Mike Martinek, Joe Costigan, jack Costigan and Chris Reilly. Arrangements were made by Ossian Funeral Chapel. Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa.
