Funeral services for Edna M. Green were held Sunday, December 5 at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville. The Rev. Terrance P. Hennesy officiated. Jan Schultz was organist. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren sang "How Great Thou Art". Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Phelps Cemetery, Decorah.
Edna M. Green, daughter of Frank and Maggie (Hill) Roney, was born June 6, 1903 at Decorah. She died Wednesday, December 2, 1987 in the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.
On June 11, 1924, she was united in marriage to Chester Green at Decorah. The couple had 4 children. Edna and Chester farmed in Bloomfield Township most of their married life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Roger, 2 grandchildren, Ann Marie Green and John Mark Dibble, one great-grandson, Matthew James Werger and 3 sisters, Velma Hanson, Elsie Yarwood and Vada McLain.
She is survived by her husband Chester of Postville, 1 son, Glen and his wife Joan of Aplington, IA, 2 daughters, Mrs. Jack (Ardis) Dibble, Postville and Mrs. Dean (Marilyn) Werger, Garnavillo, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Grace Vick and Ethel Martinson, both of Decorah, and 2 brothers, Lloyd Roney, Decorah and Wallace Roney, Rochester, MN.
Casket bearers were Leon and Jay Dibble, Alan, Gary and Kim Werger, Wayne, Peter, Michael and Paul Green.
