Final Rites For Bonnie B. Green

Funeral services for Bonnie B. Green were held Thursday, August 20, 1981 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Castalia. The Rev. Curtis Webster officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia.

Bonnie Belle Green, daughter of Charles and Anna (Gardner) Tatro, was born November 26, 1896 in Winneshiek County, west of Castalia. She passed away August 18, 1981 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

She received her education in the rural schools of Winneshiek County. On January 30, 1918 she was married to Stephen Allen Green in the Methodist Church at Decorah. She helped to raise two step-children, Clarence and Ruth May. They lived in Winneshiek County on the farm known as "Spring Valley Farm". In 1935 they moved to the farm where Helen Green now lives. Bonnie moved to Postville in 1968. For thirty years she had spent the winters in Lakeland, Florida. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Castalia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died July 4, 1961; a step-son, Clarence, a brother, Howard Tatro who died at the age of 23, and a great-grandson, Robert Melvin Green.

Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Ruth Amundson, Chatfield, MN, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Green, five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three brothers: Lysle Tatro, San Diego, CA, Dewey Tatro, Decorah, and Gene Tatro, Danville, IL.
