Cloy Timmerman Dies Of Injuries

Cloy W. Timmerman of Great Fall, Montana suffered fatal injuries January 29 when he fell about 70 feet from a cableway tower under construction at Cochrane Dam site on the North side of the Missouri River near Great Falls.

Officials of Winston-Green Firm, building the dam for Montana Power Co., said he slipped, lost his balance while working on a platform at the top of the tower. He was given first aid immediately, placed on a stretcher and rushed to Columbus Hospital where he died soon after arrival.

Cloy Timmerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arno Timmerman, was born February 16, 1923 at Castalia, Iowa. He passed away January 29, 1957 at Great Falls, Montana. He was a graduate of Castalia high school. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy Air Force in 1942 and after attending several flight schools, received his gold pilot wings at Pensacola, Florida in October, 1944 and was still active in the Naval Reserve at Spokane, Washington. He was affiliated with the Blue Cross Insurance Company in Chicago for many years.

Mr. Timmerman was married to Nina Mae Harrison of Rockford, Illinois in Rockford March 20, 1954. He and his wife moved to Boulder, Montana August, 1955 where he was employed as an ironworker. They had recently moved to Great Falls.

The body was sent to Rockford where services were held Saturday, February 2. Surviving in addition to his wife are his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Kenneth, all of Castalia.
