Services for Pearl Teepe held Tuesday

Funeral services for Pearl Teepe, 90, Elma, were held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist church with Rev. Ray Howland officiating. Burial was in the Howard Cemetery with Conway Funeral home, Elma, in charge of the arrangements.

Pearl died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1996 at Floyd Memorial Hospital, Charles City, of natural causes.

Pearl Schoonmaker was born Jan. 22, 1905 in Frankville, Iowa the daughter of Daniel and Mabel (Nelson) Schoonmaker. She attended school in Decorah.

On Sept. 21, 1921 she was united in marriage to Edward Teepe at the Methodist Parsonage in Decorah. During their married lives the couple resided in Fayette and Howard counties.They moved to Elma in 1945 and then lived in Orchard in 1956 and then back to Elma in 1960.

Pearl was a member of the Elma United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Raymond and David Teepe; two brothers, Lewis Christopher and Vernon Schoonmaker; three sisters, Vera Schoonmaker, Ruby Chudzinski, and Mary Teepe.

Pearl is survived by six daughters, Mabel Carmody, Gravette, Ark.; Joyce Meyerhoff, Charles City; Elinor Eggers and Sharon Lane, both of Charles City; Janice Kobliska, Elma; and Phyllis Fausnaugh, Mason City. Also 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and a sister, Stella Burnham, Janesville, Wis.
