Hilton Langum, 70, Rushford, a former Mabel resident, died Friday, January 2, at the Valley Baptist Hospital in Carrollton, Texas, where he had been vacationing.
He was born November 16, 1905, in Mabel, the son of Nathan and it Magna Gudmunson Langum. He was a graduate of Mabel high school.
On April 20 2, 1939, he married Ardis Peterson in Rushford. He was engaged in the produce business for many years and was a former manager of the Rushford municipal liquor store.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the European theater. He was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and an active member of the Rushford area conservancy club.
Survivors are his wife; two brothers, Nathan, Plainview, Minnesota, Mervyn, Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Lillian) Johnson, Mabel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Rushford Lutheran Church. The Reverend Owen Gaasedelen officiating. Burial in the church cemetery with military rights.
