Mrs. ARNO (Delyla Bollman) TIMMERMAN 1901-1983

Funeral services for Delyla Timmerman were held Monday, Oct. 17, 1983 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Castalia. The Rev. H. W. Wolfgram officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia.

Delyla Timmerman, daughter of Willard E. and Elizabeth (Sphar) Bollman, was born Sept. 23, 1901 at Lime Springs. She died Oct. 14, 1983 at her home in Castalia.

She graduated from the Postville Schools in 1920. She was a teacher in the Castalia Schools and for a year she taught in the high school at Titonka.

On Oct. 7, 1922 she was married to Arno Timmerman at Decorah. To this union three sons were born. They lived on the family farm near Castalia until 1952 when they moved to their present home in Castalia.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Castalia and its Women's Organization, the MCA. She taught Sunday School and was the Church Treasurer for several years.

She is preceded in death by a son, Cloy, a brother, Ellery and two sisters, Iva (Mrs. Ralph Billick) and Ruth (Mrs. Oliver J. Lee).

Surviving are her husband, Arno; two sons, Wayne of Postville and Kenneth of Castalia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Cyril Bollman of Llana, CA; five sisters: Mrs. John (Velma) Franger of Rancho Mirage, CA, Vivian Metz of Hoopeston, IL, Ulah Nordheim of Decorah, Winifred White of Apache Junction, AZ, and Inez Wyborny** of Alcoe, AR.
