Rites Are Held For C. Wander

Funeral services for Cleora P. Wander, 61, were held Monday, Aug. 11, 1980 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. The Rev. Duane Berg officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Cleora Pearl Wander, daughter of William and Mabel (Schultz) Schmidt, was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Illyria Township, Fayette County, Iowa. She died Aug. 9, 1980 at her home, near Castalia.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church and received her education in the Castalia area school.

March 22, 1943 she was united in marriage to Phillip Wander at Ossian. They lived in the Castalia area and moved to their present farm in 1946.

Preceding her in death are her father, William and her brother, Hervey Schmidt. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Cletus of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Craig of Marion, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Christine Erickson of Castalia; four grandchildren, Lori, Colette, Darren and Bradley; and her mother, Mrs. Mabel Schmidt of Castalia.
