Betty Flack

Funeral services for Betty Flack of Castalia were held Monday, July 31, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. The Rev. Terrance Hennesy officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Betty Jane Flack, daughter of Charles and Margaret (Sampson) Wedo, was born February 3, 1927 at Clermont. She died Friday night, July 28, in the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center at LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

She was baptized in the East Clermont Lutheran church and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. Betty attended the Clermont and Postville Schools. On June 17, 1944 she was married to Leslie Flack at Clermont. They had six children. They have lived in Postville and Decorah areas. Betty had been employed at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville and the Iowa Turkey Products Plant.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles, two brothers, Duane and Charles (Junior) Wedo, and four grandchildren, Kimberly and Danny Flack, Donny Ondrashek, and Christina Rose Flack.

Surviving are her husband, Leslie, two sons, Terry and his wife, Joleen, of Caledonia, MN, Rodney and his wife, Kathleen, of Monona, four daughters, Nancy and her husband, Donald Ondrashek of Ft. Atkinson, Margaret and her husband, Ronald Scheffert, of Ely, Colleen and her husband, Gary Brainard, of Luana, and Skyla and husband, Scott Vargason, of Tiffin, 19 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one step great-grandson, her mother, Margaret Wedo of Postville, and three brothers, LaVerne and Robert Wedo of Postville and Louis Wedo of Decorah.

Betty was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville.

Casket bearers: Jason Flack, Michael Ondrashek, Dale Ondrashek, Ronald Scheffert, Greg Scheffert, Scott Vargason.
