Alberta Imogene (Bryant) White, the daughter of Archibald H. and Bertha (Casterton) Bryant, was born April 16, 1905, on a farm three miles east of Hesper, Iowa. She passed away Friday, February 14, 1997, at her home in Postville, Iowa. She had reached the age of 91 years, 9 months and 28 days.

She attended the Grindeland School near her home. On October 22, 1928 she was married to Leland White at the home of her parents. To this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archibald and Bertha, her husband, Leland, a brother, Leland, three sisters, Lorena Bryant, Irene (Mrs. Thor Fossum) and Gladys Bryant, and a daughter-in-law, Arlene (Mrs. Keith White.

Surviving are three sons; Gerald White and wife, Otilia, of EI Paso, Texas, Keith White of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Dennis White and wife, Phyllis, of Postville, arid Phyllis' mother, Mrs. Donala (Maxine) Voss, also of Postville, 11 grandchildren, Lucy Bobb, Lelanda Griffin, Dorothy Watkins, Hester Kuykendall, Aaron White, Nancy Bradford, Ann Atkins, David White, Michael White, Steven White and Tisha White, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Irma Bryant of Mabel, Minn. and Luverne (Mrs. Walter Bergsrud) of Spring Grove, Minn.

Mrs. White was a member of the Hesper Friends Church and a life member of the United Society of Friends Women. She knitted stocking caps and mittens and made bandages and baby quilts for missions in the United States and Africa. In the years when her children attended the Quaker Heights summer camp, Alberta volunteered to stay and help cook for the whole camp. She cooked for the pastor's retreats as well. Her home was always open to people who needed a place to stay while visiting the clinics and hospitals in Rochester.

While living in Postville, Alberta attended the Community Presbyterian Church.
