Sandra K. Kleppe, 46, of Waukon, Iowa, formerly of Decorah, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Locust, in rural Decorah, with Pastor Gene Hermeier officiating. Burial was in Locust Cemetery, rural Decorah. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon was in charge of arrangements.

Sandra Kay was born July 14, 1959, in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Betty (Nierling) Pollow. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumner and later confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Ossian. Sandy graduated from North Fayette High School in 1977 in West Union, Iowa.

June 4, 1977, she married Doug Kleppe at the First Lutheran Church in Ossian. They farmed north of Decorah. Sandy moved to Waukon in 2002 due to health reasons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as collecting angels, woodworking, and working on crafts. She also made quilts for several of her family members.

Survivors include her husband, Doug of Decorah; three sons, Jason (Jennifer) Kleppe and their son, Cole of Decorah, Dustin (Kimberly) Kleppe of Highlandville, Iowa, and Cody Kleppe of Decorah; her mother, Betty Snyder of Waukon; three brothers, Raymond (Kay) Snyder of Alpha, Terry Snyder of Waukon, and Jeff (Deb) Snyder of Hawkeye; and her mother-in-law, Inez Kleppe of Fayette.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Pollow, and father-in-law, Bert Kleppe.

Casketbearers were Clayton, Joshua, and Brady Snyder, Kevin Winters, Lyle Nierling, and Tim Chensvold.
