Frank Philip Kobriger, age 69, died at his farm east of Ossian early Saturday evening, July 16, 1983. He was born the son of the late Philip and Frances (Schmitz) Kobriger on January 16, 1914, rural Ossian, Iowa. He obtained his education at De Sales School in Ossian. He was a lifetime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish and a member of the St. Francis Rosary Society.

On June 18, 1935, he was united in marriage to Clara H. Uhlenhake by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. M.J. Thiltgen at St. Francis de Sales Church. Through their entire married life, Frank and Clara have farmed and made their home east of Ossian.

Survivors include his wife, Clara of Ossian; four sons, Harold of Forest City, IA, Norman of Oklahoma City, OK, Kenneth of Owatonna, MN, and Karl of Ossian, three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (DiAnn) Evanson of West Union, Mrs. Neal (Karen) Heckmann of Oelwein, and Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Wilker of Postville; one sister, Mrs. Roman (Marie) Lechtenberg of Mesa, AZ; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one granddaughter, Faith Ann Kobriger in 1978, and one great-granddaughter, Mary Massman in 1975.

Services for Frank Kobriger were held Tuesday, July 19, 1983 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. The Rev. Phillip C. McDermott officiated. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Ossian. Schmitz Funeral Home in Ossian was in charge of arrangements.
