PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

William C. Reed was born in the province of Quebec, Canada in 1835 and in 1843 he came to the United States. His parents located in Wisconsin, remaining there until 1850, when they came to Allamakee county. In 1861 he bought a farm in Section 30, Hesper township. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. of Burr Oak. At Waukon, Iowa, he was married to Phoebe Knight in 1859, and they had ten children.
