PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Tarald Ramlo was born in Norway August 15, 1832. His wife Marit was also a native of Norway. They were married in their native land and later emigrated to America. Their first home was in Jackson county, Minnesota. However in 1862, at the time of the Sioux uprising they were foced to leave that territory and came to Spring Grove, Minn., for a short time. From there they came to Hesper township, settling on a farm. To them were given five children: Halstein; Peter; Anna, who later became Mrs. Einar Peterson; Halvor; all of whom are deceased. Jim, the last of the family, died March 14, 1941.
