PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Andrew J. McIntosh and Emily M. Briggs were married September 20, 1872, at Cresco, Iowa, by Elder Fall. After their marriage they started farming in Madison township on a 160 acre farm owned by Mr. McIntosh. While they resided on that farm their three children were born: A. B. McIntosh of 1006 River Street, Decorah, Iowa, and Lestina, who married Adelbert Morrison, residing on the home farm in Hesper township, and Anna, who died in infancy. Mr. McIntosh sold his farm in Madison township and purchased a 120 acre farm in Hesper township in Section 24, where he and his wife continued to live all their lives.
