PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Martin Potts came here in 1870. He was married to Betsey E. Harkness, a native of the state of Vermont. She came west with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.George Harkness. They settled in Minnesota. After coming to Hesper he took up the trade as a carpenter. Their religion was that of the Friends. They had three children, two daughters and one son all of whom are now deceased.
