PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Dr. Robert Strong, one of the first doctors in the vicinity of Hesper was a native of Scotland. He emigrated to this country when a young boy. He came to Hesper and practiced medicine for many years. His wife, Josephine, was born in the state of Vermont on December 3, 1840. She was an exceptionally well educated woman of high ideals and a lover of music. Dr. Knowles was the first doctor to locate in Hesper.
