PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Milton Antrim was born in Indiana July 11, 1831. On April 12, 1852 he was married to Sarah Hamlin, a native of Ohio, born there March 26, 1834. They came to Hesper township in a covered wagon and settled on the farm where Willie Welch now lives, where they lived until 1873, when they bought a farm southwest of the village. In 1885 they sold their farm and moved to McCook county, S. D., in 1886, where they homesteaded and lived the rest of their lives. They were the parents of nine children: Levi J., Elihu, Cora May, Frank, all of whom are now deceased. The living children are: William P.; Lizzie Amburn, Montrose, S. D.; Albert, Fair Oaks, California; Sarah Hughes, Sacramento, Calif.; and Emily D. Darling, Decorah, Iowa.
