PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941

Lydia Congdon Aldrich was born in Worcester county, Massachusetts, December 28, 1818. In the year 1840 she was married to William Cook of the same county. In the fall of 1856, they with their family came to Hesper, which was the family home all their lives. Mr. Cook was in the mercantile business. To them were born a son and daughter: Mrs. G Dillingham and W. O. Cook. William Cook passed away in 1881 and she joined her companion in 1905. They were members of the Friends religion, in which faith they maintained the characters of faithful, consistent Christians to the end of their lives.
