PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941
B.J. Tabor was born in Lincoln, Vermont, November 8, 1825. He lived in Vermont twenty-seven years, and while there married Phoebe J. Meader, Sept. 16, 1846. In 1853 they moved to Mount Gilead, Morrow county, Ohio, and settled there until the year 1857, when they came to Hesper. Mr. Tabor found employment with his two brothers who had arrived preciously. In 1862, he bought land in Fillmore county and moved there in 1867. His wife died May 7, 1860, leaving four children. On the 5th of January 1862, he was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Miss Charlotte Rowe. To this union was born one daughter. Mr. Tabor served on the school board in Minnesota for over twenty-two years.
