PIONEER DAYS-HESPER TOWNSHIP 1851-1941
Henry Cleveland was the first proprietor of the "Anchor" creamery at Hesper. In the face of active competition on all sides, the creamery held its own and captured many gold medals. Mr. Cleveland was an excellent buttermaker and received a bronze medal from the Columbian Exposition in 1893. Henry Cleveland was married to a Miss Miner and to them were given five children, three sons and two daughters: Charlie, Edward, Fred, Grace, and Millie.
