January 21, 1925 - October 29, 2009SCHOEPF, Luella, 84, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
Luella was born on January 21, 1925, to Vern and Anna (Sanquist) Schoepf in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She had resided at SIM in Sebring since her retirement in 1990.
Luella attended Mankato State Teachers College, Northwestern Bible College, and Pillsbury Baptist College before joining SIM as a missionary in 1952. During her missionary career, she served in a variety of ministries throughout Ethiopia, including translation, trekking, doing secretarial work in the education office, hostessing, and teaching. Her years of teaching touched the lives of Ethiopian students in SIM schools as well as missionary and international children at Bingham Academy.
She attended Southside Baptist Church in Sebring.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Eunice Schoepf, of Sheffield, Iowa, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Luella will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in the Serving in Mission Chapel in Sebring with the Rev. David Altman officiating.
