Danny Lee Brackey
(December 5, 1951 - August 26, 2015)Danny Lee Brackey, 63, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at his home in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Danny Brackey, a son of Thelma Issacson-Brackey and the late Marvin Brackey, was born on December 5, 1951, at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea, Minnesota. Baptised at the hospital as well and later confirmed at Lime Creek Lutheran Church, he attended Lake Mills High School and then NIACC to complete his GED.
On July 28, 1979, he married Pamela Sanden. They, subsequently, had twin daughters, Ashley Christine and Rebecca Lynn. In due course, he was employed at The Wreck, Byerly’s, and Cummins Filtration.
Dan’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, golfing, playing cards at Isaac Walton’s, playing pool, bowling, and watching Lake Mills football games. He, always, enjoyed a simple life, spending time with family and friends and his two dogs, Molly and Corky.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Brackey; his daughters, Becky Brackey-Shaw (Casey Shaw) and Ashley Brackey-Lawson (Randy Lawson); his parents, Thelma and Ray Isaacson; his sisters, Patti (Dave) Hissam, Diane Brackey, Deb Bergland, and Julie (Robert) Brackey; his uncle, Claire (Phyllis) Brackey; and his special cousins, Steven (Della) Benson, Katie (Mark) Benson-Wubben, and Trevor (Molly) Benson; along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Brackey; his uncles, Adler, Arlie, Burnell, Norris, and Snooky (Vernon) Brackey; and Johnny and Judien Benson; his Grandma Mabel Brackey; his nephew, Scott Brackey; and his grandparents, Thea and Lewis Askildson.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Synod Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church.
