November 6, 1932 - November 13, 2014Darleen Lundberg, 82, of Forest City, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A daughter of Ray and Alta (Wellendorf) Nelson, Darleen was born on November 6, 1932, on the family farm east of Garner. She attended rural Concord Township School and graduated from Garner High School. Darleen married Milo Lundberg on June 30, 1954, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
An avid square dancer, Darleen, often, cued rounds at dances. In addition, she enjoyed traveling, both throughout all fifty states and overseas, and bowling. She, also, liked embroidering tea towels. She treasured her family and especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Darleen is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Steve) Nedved, of Garner; her son, Raymond Lundberg, of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Hartwig, of Clear Lake, Ryan Nedved, of Forest City, and Chad Lundberg, of Cedar Rapids; her great-grandchildren, Cade and Reid Hartwig; her brother, Kermit (Shirley) Nelson, of Lake Mills.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milo, in 1997; her granddaughters, Melissa Nedved and Andrea Lundberg; her brother, Curtis (Joann) Nelson, and a still born brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Forest City United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Layton officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Madison Cemetery in Forest City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Iowa.
