Donald A. Nonnweiler
October 2, 1939 - July 15, 2009

The son of the late Clair E. and Mardel A. Nelson Nonnweiler, Donald A. (Don) Nonnweiler, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, following an illness.

A design engineer with the Enterprise Company in Orange, California, for many years, Donald lived there with his wife and youngest grandson. He enjoyed many hobbies including traveling sailing, hunting, fishing, doing woodcrafts, remodeling, drawing, and spending time in his workshop. A longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Orange, California, he was also a Navy veteran and an Army reserve member.

He is survived by Diana Lynn Nonnweiler, his wife of thirty-eight years, of Joplin, Missouri; a son, Roger Nonnweiler, of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brothers, Paul Elwood Nonnweiler, of Tyrone, Georgia, and Douglas Nonnweiler, of Webb City; four grandchildren, Mathew and Nicole Nonnweiler, both of Diamond Bar, California, Zachory Keith, of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Logan Nonnweiler of Loma Linda.

A daughter, Arlene, and a sister, Carolynn Ruth Moore, preceded him in death.

In Joplin, the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Parker Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, at the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa, with military rites under the direction of the Petersen-Lund Funeral Home.
