Robert Lee Anfinson
(May 20, 1932 - May 26, 2013)Robert Anfinson, age 80, of Lake Mills, died on April 5, 2013, at his daughter’s home in Katy, Texas.
Robert was born in Watertown, South Dakota, on May 20, 1932, to Fred and Clara (Burns) Anfinson. He grew up and attended Watertown High School where he excelled at football and track.
Following high school, Bob honorably and faithfully served in the United States Navy for four years. During the Korean War, he was aboard the U.S.S. Henry Tucker. After his discharge, he returned home and met Pauline Englund, whom he married on June 7, 1958, in Watertown. They, subsequently, had two children, Peggy and Todd.
Offered a job with the Duffy Paper Company, he moved with his family from Watertown to Mason City, Iowa. Then in 1963, they moved to Lake Mills, where they resided for forty-nine years.
A member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge, an avid golfer at Rice Lake Country Club, Bob enjoyed hunting as well. He also liked spending time with his friends, playing cards, and working in his yard.
Survivors include his children, Peggy Anfinson and Todd (Naomi) Anfinson; a sister, Sue Sheehan; a sister-in-law, Helen Anfinson; and many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; his brother, Jack Anfinson; and a sister, Jean Buckner.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in South Dakota at a later date.
