June 7, 1933 - May 18, 2019

Ruth Marilyn Feldick, a daughter of Selmer and Stella (Wolfs) Carlson, was born on June 7, 1933. Raised on a farm near Leland, she attended elementary school in Leland and graduated from Forest City High School in 1951. After graduating from Waldorf College in Forest City in 1953, she taught school in Buffalo Center for five years.

On August 3, 1957, she married Warren Feldick at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leland where she had been baptized and confirmed. Following their wedding, Ruth and Warren lived on farms north of Buffalo Center where they raised their family.

Actively involved in the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center, she taught Sunday School and Bible School for a number of years. In addition, she served as an elder and participated in the women's organization. In 1994, she and Warren moved from the farm to a house in Buffalo Center. Ruth died on Saturday, May 19, 2019, at the Titonka Care Center at the age of 85.

Ruth is survived by her three children: Dale, and his wife, Katie, of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary, and his wife, Donna, of Waconia, Minnesota, and Connie and her husband, Sheldon Singleton, of Irvine, California; four grandchildren: Ashley, Kevin, Macy, and Marina Feldick; three great grandchildren, Nya and Ella Becker and Graham Rezin; a sister, Joyce (Duane) Aske, of Ames, Iowa; and a brother, Luther Carlson, of Marshalltown Iowa; along with seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; her sisters, Eleanor Vulgamott and Frances Bienert; and her brothers-in-law: Lawrence Feldick, Ray Vulgamott, and Franklin Bienert.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Oakcrest Funeral Services in Buffalo Center. Burial will follow in Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center.
