Bernice Anna Kloster
June 26, 1918 - April 25, 2019Bernice A. Kloster, age 100, died on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Bernice was born on June 26, 1918, in Zearing, Iowa, to John K. and Dena (Thorson) Hesby. On June 28, 1939, she married John Kloster in Scarville, Iowa, and to their union, three children were born.
A long-time member of North Prairie Lutheran Church and of Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, she served on the ladies’ circles as well as on numerous other committees through the years.
Bernice enjoyed taking care of her children and her home. In addition, she loved to cook, bake, shop, and go dancing. Moreover, she enjoyed fishing every chance she got. Valuing her family, she enjoyed the times she spent with them. Without a doubt, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Duane Kloster, of Buffalo Center, Betty Jean Delgado, of Buffalo Center, and Mark Allen Kloster and his wife, Suzette, of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren: Ana Delgado (Allain Rogers), Victoria (Mark) Palmer, Ryan (Kisha) Kloster, Sara (Patrick) Landels, and Laura (Lucas) Brown; and her great-grandchildren: Juniper, Davis, Lila, Cooper, and Jenna; as well as by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John A. Kloster; and her siblings: Curtis, Margaret, Maurine, and Doris.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Melinda McCluskey officiating. A gathering of friends and family is scheduled for one hour before services at the church on Friday. Inurnment will follow in the North Prairie Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Leland, Iowa.
