Marilyn Faye (Davis) Bannister Adams
June 23, 1935 - February 18, 2019

Marilyn Faye (Davis) Bannister Adams, 83, of Forest City, died on Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Lake Mills Care Center.

Marilyn Faye Davis Bannister Adams, better known to her family and close friends as Wimpy, lived a life filled with family. One of sixteen children, she was born on June 23, 1936, to Albert and Edna (Hiller) Davis. While she was growing up, she attended school in Titonka, Perry, and Algona and helped along with her sisters at the restaurants her parents ran.

In June 1953, Marilyn married Dale V. Bannister, and to that union, five children were born: Tom (Lois), of Forest City, Randy (Deb), of Klemme, Cindy (Robert) Denzer, of St. Charles, Minnesota, Darrell, of Klemme, and Dan (Wojciech), of St. Paul, Minnesota. Later, Marilyn and Dale divorced.

Throughout her adult life, she continued to work in food service, first at the Bungalow in Forest City until it closed and then at the Sportsman’s Bar which her son, Randy, and his partner, Cheryl Hansen, owned. Indeed, they invited her to work for them and most of the customers who knew her from the Bungalow followed her there. She continued to work at the Sportsman’s until she retired. Moreover, during this period in her life, she met and married Red Adams.

Wimpy loved her family, friends, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She, also, enjoyed experiencing the outdoors, fishing, watching and feeding the birds, listening to Old Country Music, reading, and watching westerns on TV. Moreover, she liked regaling about how she was once kissed by Marty Robbins!

After she lost her husband, Red, she moved into a small apartment in Forest City. Then, her health started to deteriorate, and she was forced to leave her apartment and move into the Care Center in Lake Mills where she enjoyed watching the flowers and birds in good weather and playing Bingo in the not so nice weather.

Marilyn is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren:
