June 19, 1934 - February 14, 2019

Delores Mae Steinfeldt, age 84, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Valley View Healthcare & Rehab in Houston, Minnesota.

Delores was born to Carl and Ella (Monson) Harris in Forest City, Iowa, on June 19, 1934. She lived most of her life in Forest City where she, also, attended school. In 1950, she married Leon Bardwell. They, subsequently, had two children: a daughter, Patricia, and a son, Steven. After their marriage ended, Delores waitressed in Forest City at the Riverside Café and Mike’s Café. In time, she met her second husband, Richard Steinfeldt. They married in 1960 and had one son, Richard.

Delores enjoyed spending time with her family. An avid Iowa Hawkeyes' fan, she passed on her love for them on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never missed a game whether they were playing football or basketball, and she knew the names of all the players. In addition, she enjoyed having coffee with friends and reminiscing over the good old days growing up. She, also, loved getting her hair done and shopping, especially for shoes and purses. Moreover, she had a contagious laugh, and she made the best potato salad, oyster stew, and blueberry cheesecake.

Delores is survived by her children: Patricia Weed, Steven Bardwell, and Richard Steinfeldt; her grandchildren: Kelli Stensland, Jennifer Stark, Melissa Hultberg, and Cody Weidler; and her great-grandchildren: Cassandra and Kelsey Clark; Carter and Jonah Hultberg; Tanner Plantz; Alex and Ella Stensland; and Cameron and Carter Weidler.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa 50436. A gathering of friends and family will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial of cremains will follow in the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa.
