Pearl (Twait) Fjetland
April 2, 1921 - November 22, 2018Pearl (Twait) Fjetland, 97, of Forest City, died peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at the Hospice House in Mason City Iowa.
Pearl, a daughter of Neil and Alma (Bradich) Twait, was born on April 2, 1921, at home in Buffalo Center. Growing up on the family farm, she attended and graduated from Buffalo Center High School.
On July 1, 1940, she married Melvin J. Fjetland in Algona at the Court House. The Fjetlands lived in various towns before finally settling in the Leland area. Pearl worked at various locations beginning with Deluxe Products in Lake Mills. Her love of the food industry, however, took her to work as a cook to the Winnebago County Home, the Forest City Hospital, and the Lake Mills Care Center. She became an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leland, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughter, Janis Aulich, of Rancho Cordova, California; her son-in-law, Robert Boeckholt, from Topeka, Kansas; her grandchildren, Brenda (Gary) Sleep and Debbie and Michael (Cindy) Aulich; her cousin, Duane (Lillian) Twait, of Ohio; her nephews, Bennett (Julie) Quamme, of Rake Iowa, and Bill Fjetland, of Algona, Iowa; her niece, Shirley Timmer, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; and her special friend, Sue (Mark) Hoeft, of Forest City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Joseph Raymond Twait; a son, Markley; a daughter, Sandra Boeckholt; and her grandsons, Brent Boeckholt and Gary Aulich.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leland with Lay Minister Rose Visser officiating.
