August 26, 1955 - May 15, 2018

Dennis P. Steiff, 62, of Forest City, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Hancock County Medical Center in Britt, Iowa.

On August 26, 1955, Paul and Irma Steiff were blessed to add a son, Dennis Paul Steiff, to their family. He grew up on the Steiff century family farm in Forest City, Iowa, attended school in Forest City, and graduated with the class of 1973. Through the years, Dennis participated in volleyball, cornhole, and bowling. In addition, he served on the elevator board.

Dennis had a passion for farming, especially while working with his brother-in-law, Roger, and he, also, enjoyed working as an electrician. Moreover, loved to spend time with his daughters, Jaclyn and Rachael, as well as with his three cats, Rascal, Smokey, and Casey. And then, he enjoyed grilling, camping, and treating many friends and family members to a fire and a cold beer at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Paul Steiff, as well as by his brother-in-law, Ron Swanson. Those left to continue Dennis’s legacy include his two daughters, Jaclyn Steiff, of Chicago, Illinois, and Rachael Steiff, of Ames, Iowa; and his sisters: Lori Swanson, of Portland, Oregon, Judy (Fred) Miller, of Mankato, Minnesota, and Renee (Roger) Nieman, of Forest City, Iowa, as well as by many friends. Even though he has left this world, he will never leave our hearts and memories.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Forest City United Methodist Church, 305 South Clark Street, Forest City, with Pastor Paul Evans of the Garner United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa 50436. Burial will follow in the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of Dennis Steiff.
