Ronald Norman Nyhus
May 14, 1959 - June 11, 2018Ronald N. Nyhus, 59, of Clear Lake, died peacefully, on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A son of Norman and Delores (Morem) Nyhus, Ronald was born on May 14, 1959, in Forest City. He attended special education classes in Forest City and Thompson. A part of the Opportunity Village organization for over thirty years, he lived in various places in Clear Lake and also worked at many different restaurants in Clear Lake through the years. He enjoyed his friends and especially loved watching World Wrestling Entertainment (WWF) wrestling. Indeed, he owned an archive of wrestling tapes, which he watched religiously. He will be, dearly, missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ronald is survived by his father, Norman, of Forest City; his brother, Roger (Bonnie) Nyhus, also of Forest City; his nephew, Craig (Laura) Nyhus, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his niece, Laura Nyhus, of Gilbert, Arizona; a great-nephew, Carter Nyhus, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; an uncle, Harold Nyhus, of Forest City; and an aunt, Donna (Harvey) Eden, of Woden, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Nyhus, in 2013 and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa 50436, with Pastor Steve Bang officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the services at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will take place in the Pilot Knob Lutheran Cemetery in rural Forest City. A lunch will follow the committal service at the Pilot Knob Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ronald Nyhus memorial fund in care of the family.
