Lillian “June” Weaver, age 89, of Lake Mills, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Lillian June Kitner Weaver was born on June 5, 1928, in King Township, Winnebago County, Iowa, to Samuel and Mary Willert Kitner. Baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, she graduated from Fertile High School in 1947. On April 29, 1950, she married Herman Weaver at Minneapolis, Minnesota. They, subsequently, made their home in Lake Mills where June worked for Deluxe Products/Fleetguard Industries. June enjoyed traveling with Herman, taking camping trips across the country and eventually wintering in Chimney Park, Texas. For fun, she collected knick-knacks, spent time doing word puzzles, and liked crafting and crocheting.

Survivors include her two grandchildren, Carol Weaver, of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Terry (Jeni) Weaver, of Des Moines, Iowa; two great-grandsons, Aaron Weaver and Cade Weaver; and three sisters- and brothers-in-law, Emilyn Kitner, of Clear Lake, Iowa, Cecil (Paula) Weaver, of Mason City, Iowa, and Lois (Leonard) Harms, of Forest City, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman; her son, Vernon Weaver; five brothers, Bob, John (Ethel), Clarence (Opal), Lester (Rhoda), and Leslie Kitner (her twin in infancy); a sister, Florence (Max) Graff; and six brothers- and sisters-in-law: Bonnie and Denny Hoeft, Allen Weaver, June Weaver, and Denny and Doris Weaver.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 183 2nd Avenue East, Thompson, Iowa, with Pastor Judy Wozniak officiating. Visitation will take place during the hour before the service. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to June’s family. The Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills is in charge of the arrangements.
