Sena C. McGregor
May 8, 1917 - May 15, 2017

Sena McGregor passed away at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center on May 15, 2017.

Sena Carline Isebrand was born on a farm by Titonka on May 8, 1917, to Elsie Sleper and Carl Isebrand. In time, the family moved to a farm near Ledyard, and she, one of fifteen children, attended Ledyard Consolidated School. On March 14, 1939, she married Forrest McGregor in Fairmont, Minnesota. They lived most of their married life on a farm near Bancroft. A long-time member of the Ramsey Reformed Church along with her husband and children, Sena, actively, participated in the Esther Circle. She, also, enjoyed crocheting. Many own scrubbers she made from nylon net and sold for 50 cents each. Accomplished rug makers, she and Forrest wove rugs from used material and denim jeans. They would often come home to find a bag of material by the back door.

Sena treasured her family and friends. She never wanted to take center stage. Relatives and friends, soon, came to appreciate her quiet, thoughtful, and caring nature. She enjoyed decorating and baking for Christmas. For many years, her mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews would celebrate Christmas and the 4th of July at her home on the farm. Upon retiring, she and Forrest moved to their home in Buffalo Center. Moreover, they enjoyed many years wintering in Texas with family and friends. In August of 2012, she became a resident of Timely Mission, Buffalo Center.

Sena will be missed by her children: Roger (Barbara) McGregor, of Boone, and Marjorie (Carter) Crittenden, of Atlanta; her daughter-in-law, Donnette McGregor, of Sioux Falls, her grandchildren: Monica (Dan) Huyser, of Ames, Suzanne (Clay) James, of Phoenix, John Crittenden, of Atlanta, Jeffrey (Sherri) McGregor, of Sioux Falls, Joel (Rebecca) McGregor, also of Sioux Falls, Jeremy (Michelle) McGregor, of Tea, Jennifer (Steve) Hirsch, of Sioux Falls, Kendra (Eric) Amundson, of Leland, and Kayla (Brian) Meredith, of Kansas City; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Rozella) Estherville; three sisters, Elsie Selberg, of Mason City, Ada Williams, of Estherville, and Leona Kleine, of Princeton, Minnesota; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Swalve, of LeMars, and Carol (Dale) Heitland, of Clear Lake; and her special friends, Karyl and Becky Anderson, of Alabaster, Alabama; as well as by many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
