March 06, 1952 - December 25, 2016Bruce A. Gregor, age 64, of Lake Mills, died on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Bruce Alan Gregor, a son of Merill Floyd and Dorothy Darlene (Paulsen) Gregor, was born on March 6, 1952, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He attended and then graduated from Britt High School in Britt, Iowa, with the Class of 1970. Next, he attended NIACC in Mason City.
Bruce lived in Thompson, Iowa, before moving to Lake Mills in 1976. For thirty-three years, he worked at Fleetguard Industries first as a supervisor and later as a scheduler. Afterwards, he worked for Schriever Services and the Pritchard Family Auto Stores.
On September 15, 1990, Bruce married Darlene “Dolly” Garvick Miller at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester, Minnesota.
Bruce would spend his free time golfing with his buddies, woodworking in his shop, making minor home improvements, or watching Mark Martin racing in the latest NASCAR event on TV. Nonetheless, he would put all that aside to watch his children and grandchildren if they were participating in any sporting events or other school activities.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Lake Mills; his children, Cory (Emilie) and Dallas (Karin) Gregor, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Andy Gregor, Jeff (Dorie Paulus) Miller, and Julie (Shawn) Helgeson, all of Lake Mills; his grandchildren: Jaci Miller, of Lake Mills; Tyler, Karli, and Carter Helgeson, also of Lake Mills; and Gaven, Graysen, Luke, and Vivian Gregor, all of Des Moines; his brother-in-law, Gene Ratzel; his sister-in-law, Sherry Gregor; his uncle, Cliff Paulsen; his mother-in-law, Bernice Garvick, and his brother- and sister-in-law, Dale and Janet Garvick; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Merill and Dorothy Gregor; his step-mom, Rose Gregor; four siblings Rick, Robert, Sharon, and Dave; and his father-in-law, Henry Garvick.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Joel L. Guttormson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation for Bruce will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church.
