July 10, 1954 - December 1, 2016

Marilyn T. Meinecke, 62, of Clear Lake, Iowa, formerly of Forest City, Iowa, died on Thursday December 1, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

A daughter of Alvin and Mary (Jacobs) Meinecke, Marilyn was born on July 10, 1954, in Forest City, Iowa. After graduating from Forest City High School in 1972, she attended and graduated from Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, with a degree in education. She taught and coached at Thompson and then at Forest City. She, later, worked at Winnebago Industries in customer service until her accident. She enjoyed quilting, singing, dancing and mingling with people. In 1978, she married Bill Anderson in Forest City, Iowa. Known for her wonderful smile and her generosity in caring for others and giving in life, she lives on through her organ donations to the Iowa Donor Network.

While living in Forest City, she was very active at the St. James’ Catholic Church, and then when she moved to Clear Lake, she became active at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of North Iowa Quilters.

She is survived by her two brothers, Don (Kathy) Meinecke, of Forest City, Iowa, and Doug Meinecke, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her companion, Jeff Folkerts, of Clear Lake, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Carol Meinecke, of Cresco, Iowa, one niece, Jennifer (George) Baker; and four nephews, Christopher, Jeff (Cathy), Steven (Karen), and Joe Meinecke; as well as by great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mary Meinecke.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, Iowa, with Rev. John Gossman officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, Forest City, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, Iowa, and then one hour before the service at the church. A scriptural wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
