February 15, 1933 - October 17, 2016Ronald G. Haroldson, 83, of Emmons, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Monday, October 17, 2016, in Emmons, Minnesota.
Ron was born on February 15, 1933, in Freeborn County to Walter and Esther (Nagel) Haroldson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1952. On April 17, 1953, he was married to JoAnn Johnson at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army. For thirty-one years, he, also, served as Postmaster in Hayward and Hill City, Minnesota.
Ron loved to travel. Indeed, he visited twenty-eight different national parks. In addition, he liked to fish, play cards with friends, and travel across the United States to babysit his grandchildren for weeks at a time. Ron, often, volunteered to help those in need, and he delivered Meals on Wheels. He spent the last eighteen18 years on the Gulf Shores of Alabama during the winter months, enjoying his time with friends on the beach.
Beloved by many, Ron is survived by JoAnn Haroldson, his wife of sixty-three years; his four children, Bruce (Virginia), Mark (Cecily), Ann, and James (Jill); six grandchildren, Neil Haroldson, Andrew Wahlin; Amy Wahlin (Graham); and Dane, Paige, and Zane Haroldson; five great-grandchildren, Jack and Haylie Wahlin; and Bridger, Isabella, and Kailey Graham; and a brother, Larry (Karen) Severson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters-in-law.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Emmons Lutheran Church with Pastor Christopher Martin officiating. Interment will be at Lime Creek Cemetery, rural Emmons, [Winnebago County] with military honors conducted by Louis Tveite Post #317. Visitation will take place Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
